Liam Milestones

Although i don't have photographic proof yet, i know that Liam is rolling over. i found him on his stomach twice last night after he was set down on his back. i might have to set up a hidden camera.
Two days ago we gave Liam his first taste of food. Just boring rice cereal and he didn't take more than a teaspoon. He kept trying to spit it back out. He acted like it was terrible but he has been staring at everyone when they eat. He is ready and i will have to teach him to enjoy it.

Couscous or Goose Poop?

two things... first the photos. they are of Ella post falling on her face off of a slide. Carl said it looked pretty serious but Ella is fine.
Second, Ella cracked me up today. she is showing off her sense of humor. At dinner i served Couscous. I told Ella how much i loved Couscous and asked her to try saying the word. Well, she tried but what came out was "goose poop". Carl and i looked at each other and i asked her to say Couscous again. Again she said "Goose Poop". i understood her clearly the second time and it became a big joke for the rest of dinner. She just learned about goose poop a few days ago when we ran into Kurt at the park and decided to join him for a walk around the park only i was wearing 3 inch heels so after awhile of walking in them i just threw them off and walked barefoot. i then told Ella that i had to be very careful not to step in Goose poop cause that would be "eeww". she has been found of the word since. yesterday she said it as we walked in the park again. only i had shoes on so it wasn't such a problem. At dinner it was just a joke. my funny valentine.

Sleep

Liam and Ella are sharing a room and are finally out of our room and bed. I felt it was time so I had Ella practice sleeping in her bed through the day last Thursday then on Friday I took apart Liam's bed and I moved it to Ella's room. When night came, I told Ella she was going to help mommy and daddy by watching Liam. Ella had no trouble going to her bed that night. She has cried some in the past 3 days but she has transitioned better than we could have expected.
Ella is growing so fast. Each day I here her saying something new. That mommy, that Ella., she said today when she was looking at photos. She is also counting to 3, and she flys through an advanced puzzle without even thinking about it.

Oh, how amazing the iPod touch is. I am writing from it right now.

a nice sunday afternoon

Ella is upstairs in her room singing the wheels on the bus over and over again. It is nap time but if she willingly stays in her room and stays quiet, i don't care if she actually sleeps. She usually conks out after awhile but i don't think she will today.
Liam is sleeping on the sofa. His nap time is due to end any moment now and he will wake wanting to be fed. During this quiet time i decided to make some chocolate oatmeal cookies.
Carl is outside with his dad working on the garage. I have been able to open the windows for the first time this season to air out the house. it is nice. i think we may be getting a storm later but the day has been nice and warm, if not a little humid.
if i was able to get a nap in myself, this would be a perfect Sunday.
oh, there's Liam....

2 Month Check-up

 

Nap Time

 

When Ella is sent to her room for a nap or to bed for the night, this is where we often find her a few minutes later. She is smart enough to remain real quiet and to stay on the steps that are out of our field of vision from the sofa but we always find her out and send her back to her room.

Liam's 2 month Check-up

 

Liam had his 2 month check up today and he recieved his first round of shots. Little guy did not like it. He cried in pain until I was able to pick him up then he calmed down enough but when Nurse Deb tried to make him smile, he pushed out his lower lip instead. He wasn't having it. Liam has been sleeping since. I had to wake him up for his lunch but will let him sleep off the pain if he wishes.

 

Ella's new Toy

Carl picked up a deluxe water/sand table for Ella today. With her birthday coming up he felt it was necessary to make me look bad. kidding. Woofie, Carl, and Ella are under the table here putting it together. Ella found it funny that Woofie was helping. She finds it very funny when we have Woofie do anything human like turn off the light or read a book. Throwing a ball is also a BIG hit.

short Hair again

 

it's all gone. i had my hair cut (twice) and donated 12 inches to locks of love. the first haircut included the donation so it was free. the guy at Juut took two hours to cut and style my hair and it was lovely but not something i could maintain at home so i wasn't too happy with it. after a few days of contemplation i decided to have it cut again. i went to a different place and told Olivia to cut it all off. She was a bit hesistant but did as i asked and i love it. Exactly what i need right now- a style that i can maintain in five minutes a day without looking like i have "mom hair".

Carl is missing from the photo but we spent a cold saturday at the Winter Carnival. Well, just the ice sculptures at the fairgrounds. great talent displayed. Ella loved it. i was cold. under the blanket was Liam, sleeping the whole time.
i recently lost some photos from the computer so i will try to diligently place photos on my blog to help preserve memories. all of the photos were initially lost. i went to erase one photo and it deleted every photo i had. junior and carl helped me recover the photos but some are now damaged. i really need to backup my photos so i don't lose all my favorites.

First Bath

Liam had his first bath on the 12th and he hated it but Ella was pretty excited. She would bathe him everyday if she could. It has been cold so i turned up the heat that day in anticipation of the bath but when i took Liam out of the water he was still starting to turn blue.

Liam is now over a month old. what a cool little boy. as long as i don't make him too cold when i am changing his diaper and i feed him when he wants milk, he is easy-going. He is showing us some smiles now. i have not had any luck at capturing one on film but i will keep working on it. He is very alert and is staying awake just a little more now. Ella is still enamored by him. She likes to include him in her play. Yesterday she was placing blocks in his hands so he could play with them. Very cute. Ella is growing nicely also. She is having more and more tantrums. Perhaps they are the because she is almost entering her two's but i think it is also because she is adapting to a new brother and less attention. Currently her favorite person is Nana and i am sure it is because when she goes over there Nana is all hers (since Liam and I stay here on Mondays and Tuesdays). Ella gave up her Baa (pacifier) last week. it wasn't willingly. She had been chewing on it and already ruined one. when i replaced it I let her know that if she chewed through the second one that there would not be anymore. well, a week later she had chewed through the second one and i had to have her throw it away. She did so but was so upset. She didn't cry at the time but she cried a lot on the following nights. i kept letting her know that she was now like mommy and daddy who didn't use a baa. She kind of bought it and now, a week later, she is doing fine although she is always looking at Liam's baa.
